Bayne Ann Olivier

New Iberia – Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Pellerin Funeral Home for Bayne Ann Olivier, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5, 2025, just two days after her 67th birthday.

Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate.

Entombment will follow at Nativity of Our Lady Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Pellerin Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and will resume Monday from 8:00 am until 10:00 am.

A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Sunday.

Pallbearers will be Brent Guidry, Nick Guidry, Tim Daly, Marc Hebert, David Hebert, Megan Olivier, Nathan Crochet, and Cory Crochet.

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Bayne Ann Olivier was born on July 3, 1958. She was a retired librarian, and spent her life immersed in the world of books and knowledge, shaping young minds throughout her esteemed career with the Iberia Parish School System.

Bayne’s passion for literature extended far beyond her role as a librarian; it was a lifelong love affair that brought joy to her heart and wisdom to those around her. To her nieces and nephews, she was not just an aunt, but a guiding light, showering them with love, encouragement, and the magic of storytelling. Although she never had children of her own, Bayne poured her heart into her family, forging bonds that will resonate for generations to come.

Bayne found solace and joy in a variety of hobbies. She loved singing, especially at church. She enjoyed crocheting and cross-stitching, transforming yarn and fabric into beautiful works of art that will be treasured keepsakes for her loved ones. Her inquisitive mind embraced challenges, whether it be solving trivia questions or completing crossword puzzles. She had a remarkable ability to connect with others, making every social occasion a cherished memory. Her warm smile and infectious laughter will be deeply missed.

Bayne is survived by her loving mother, June Decourt Olivier; siblings, Jody Olivier, Bill Olivier (Ronnie), and Cheryl Guidry (Brent); nieces and nephews, Hattie Finch, Megan Olivier, Ethan Olivier (Tessie), Erin Guidry, and Nick Guidry (Taylor); and great nieces and nephews, Sadie Savoy, Alexander Olivier, Madeline Olivier, Clio Finch, Thalia Finch, and Lydia Finch.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wilkinson Linus Olivier, Jr.

Bayne’s kindness, intelligence, and unwavering support will live on through the countless lives she touched. May she rest in peace.
