Beate Denton went peacefully into the arms of her heavenly father Friday, June 14, 2024.

Born January 8, 1953, in Budingen, Germany to Dr. Gerhardt and Hilde Hansel, Beate's kind and generous spirit began to flourish in her youth. A picture-book German upbringing formed her view of how the world should be. At the age of 12 and filled with a determination to succeed and kindness to spread, she embarked on her journey to the United States.

Beate attended Provine High School and graduated from Forest Hill High School in 1971. Beate continued her education attending the University of Southern Mississippi, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Special Education in 1975.

She married her college sweetheart, Steve Denton, on August 16, 1975, and the two remained soulmates and best friends for 46 years until Steve’s passing in 2021. The happy couple had one son, Hans Denton, in June of 1979.

Beate began her teaching career in 1981 as a Special Education teacher at Puckett Elementary in Puckett, Mississippi, where she taught for 28 years. Beate had a rewarding, passionate, and fulfilling career spanning a total of 35 years.

Beate was a champion for those who required a special kind of understanding, devotion, and care. Her selfless dedication was evident in her classroom, in her home, and in her outspoken support of the underserved, both people and animals alike.

Beate was a devout Catholic and a member of Saint Therese Catholic Church for many years. Her spirituality and kindness were put into action in her everyday life and reflected in her treatment of all of God's creatures.

Beate was preceded in death by her husband Steve Denton; her father Dr. Gerhard Hansel, her mother Hilde Hansel; and her brother Jochoen Dauzenroth. She is survived by her only son Hans Denton; his wife Bridget and their son Noah; her best friend and sister Eva-Maria Eaves; her brother Holger Dauzenroth, his wife Christine, and their son Ferdinand; her nephew Chris Eaves and his son Brady; her niece Andy Moore and her husband Don, and their sons Blake, Garrett, and Luke. She is also survived by her Facebook famous rescue dog Izzy, along with a long list of her friends and coworkers. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 22 at Ott & Lee in Brandon, Mississippi, from 9:30 - 11am with a memorial service to follow.
