Beatrice Louise Agee, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and educator, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, in Lee's Summit, Missouri, at the age of 79.

Born on Valentine's Day in 1946 in Independence, Missouri, to Priscilla and Anthony Johnson Sr., Beatrice's life was marked by compassion, dedication, and a deep love for her community. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1963 and went on to earn both her Master's and Educational Specialist degrees from the University of Central Missouri in 1967.

Beatrice devoted her life to education, beginning as an elementary school teacher in the Independence School District at William Southern, Alton, and Noland Elementary Schools. In 1981, she became Principal of Santa Fe Trail Elementary, where she served with distinction until her retirement in 2004. Her commitment to children and learning continued as she worked as Assistant to the Superintendent until 2007.

She was a proud season ticket holder for the Kansas City Chiefs for over 25 years and a loyal Royals fan. Beatrice loved traveling the world, serving her community through the Junior Service League of Independence, and contributing to the PTA Board. Her life was filled with purpose, joy, and a tireless effort to make the world better than she found it.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Agee; her parents, Priscilla and Anthony Johnson Sr.; her siblings Michael and Belinda; and many loved ones. She is survived by her son, Richard; her cherished grandchildren, Caraline and Christian; her siblings Anthony Jr. (Evelyn), Ronald (Lucilla), George (Patty), Benita (Major Jr.), and Aunt Barbara Jean; and many nieces and nephews who will carry her legacy forward.

A celebration of Beatrice's life will be held on October 9th from 10am to noon at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society in Blue Springs, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association, causes close to Beatrice's heart.

Her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched, the students she inspired, and the family who loved her deeply.

Richard.... I am so so sorry to hear about your mom´s passing. I loved her from the first time I met her way, way, way back when you and Cameron went to preschool together! She and I worked together during summer school at Santa Fe Elementary so many years ago. I always thought she was an amazing person and a wonderful principal. I included a couple of pictures of Cameron and I from his wedding a year ago. It´s been so long since we´ve seen either of you, but we want you to know, you and your mom were always treasured friends of ours.
