Dixie Lee Flaigle, age 83, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025.
Born on February 20, 1942, Dixie grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Southeast High School in 1960. In 1962, she married her high school sweetheart, Steven Flaigle, and together they built a loving family, raising two children. Dixie later pursued her passion for beauty and style, graduating from cosmetology school and proudly owning and operating several salons in the Blue Springs area.
A woman of faith, Dixie became a member of the Church of the Resurrection in 1964 and remained active there for over 45 years. She was deeply involved in her church community, the Daughters of the King, and enjoyed fellowship in the Red Hat Society. Dixie also gave generously of her heart and home, participating in the AFS program and hosting foreign exchange students for many years.
She loved to travel the world with family and friends, and she cheered with great enthusiasm for her Kansas City Chiefs, Royals, and the excitement of car racing. Above all, she will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, godmother, and friend.
Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, Leon Henry and Dot Irene Sloan, and her brother, Willis Lee Sloan. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Steven Price Flaigle of Blue Springs; her son, Sean Price Flaigle of Overland Park; her daughter, Stephanie Lee (Tom) Green of Blue Springs; three grandchildren, Stuart, Corey, and Samantha; and four great-grandchildren, Elliott, Kam, Reese, and Marlee.
A visitation will be held at Church of the Resurrection, 1433 NW R.D. Mize Road, Blue Springs, Missouri, on Saturday, September 6, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
