ROCK ISLAND-Beatrice M. "Bea" DeBrabander, 93, of Rock Island, passed away Wednesday February 22, 2023 at Hope Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, East Moline.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Monday, February 27, 2023 at St. Pius X Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be 2-4pm Sunday at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st St A, Moline with a rosary at 1:30pm. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Pius X Church.
Bea was born October 7, 1929 in Rock Island, the daughter of Charles and Leona (DeCoster) Maenhout. She married Leroy J. "Lee" DeBrabander on April 23, 1955 at Sacred Heart Church, Rock Island.
Bea graduated from St. Joseph's High School, Rock Island. She worked for Royal Neighbors of American for 8 years.
Bea was a member of St. Pius X Church and the Center for Belgian Culture.
Survivors include her husband, Lee; daughter, Karen (Ken) Tollenaer; grandchildren, Jeremy (Ashley Werthmann) Schrader, Zachary Schrader, Jacob (Elysia) Schrader, and Hannah (Tyler) Allison; great grandchildren, Noah, Penelope, Eva, Camila, Teagan, Jade, Paxton, and Zeeland; niece, Linda Ortiz; and nephew, Jim Wells. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Marie Wells, Laura Jones, Florence Louck and Josephine Jacobs and brothers, Prosper Jacobs and Leonard Maenhout.
