Beatrice Duran was born on September 30, 1960, in La Junta, CO. She was raised in La Junta and lived in La Junta, Denver and Las Animas, CO. Beatrice worked numerous jobs in her life including Dean Pickle, Bents Fort Inn, Colorado Boys Ranch, Bent County Sheriff's Office and Otero County Sheriff's Office. Beatrice was one of the strongest and hardest working women anyone would ever meet. Beatrice was blessed with 4 sons, David, Angelo, Robert and Tyson. Her boys were the joy of her life, and she loved watching them compete in every sport they played. Raising 4 boys alone had its challenges but she raised 4 outstanding men who served their country and community with David, Angelo and Robert joining the US Army and Tyson becoming a law enforcement officer. Her sons' commitment to serving and protecting country and community is a testament to the morals and discipline she instilled in her sons from a young age. Beatrice was also blessed with 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren all of whom she loved dearly. Beatrice departed this world on October 1, 2025, to join her father next to the Lord in heaven.
Beatrice is survived by her sons, David (Crystal) Duran, Angelo Duran, Robert (Chasity) Duran and Tyson (Leticia) Duran. Grandchildren, Acelyn Duran, Yaya Duran, Angelo Duran Jr, Anthony Del Rey Duran, Elena Ruiz, Chasey (Carlos) Triana, Camryn DeLeon, and Cruzito Duran. Great-grandchildren, Avrielle “Boogie”, Cazlee “Crazy”, Carlee “Chunky”, Avayah and Misael. Mother, Betty Aragon; siblings, Rita Martinez, Shirley (Greg) Romero, Tillie Aragon, Danny Aragon, Sheri (Paul) McWilliams, Aaron (Vernice) Aragon and numerous nephews and nieces who love her dearly.
She was preceded in death by father, Amos Aragon, maternal grandparents, George and Nora Madrid, paternal grandparents, Frank and Adelyn Aragon, and step-grandfather, Benny Suazo.
Memorial service will be Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel. Beatrice Duran will be laid rest next to her father at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Duran Wrestling Club to continue her support of her son's dedication to the youth and community where they teach sportsmanship, leadership and discipline that Beatrice instilled in her sons.
