Daniel B. Basham Sr., 82, passed away on September 11, 2025, at UC Memorial Central in Colorado Springs, CO. He was born on February 25, 1943, in La Junta, CO, to Ernest Fay and Frieda (Bemiss) Basham.
Daniel dedicated over 30 years of his life to selling welding supplies, a career that showcased his commitment and work ethic. He later took a break from that path to own the Mac Tool business for several years, a venture that allowed him to explore new challenges while continuing to serve his community.
Daniel is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Twila (Thorp) Basham, who remains at their home in La Junta. His legacy continues through his sons, Daniel B. (Lalaine) Basham, Jr. of Fountain, CO, and David Lee Basham of Fowler, CO, as well as his daughter, Lesli (Kevin) Danielson of Wellington, CO. Additionally, he cherished the special children in his life: Stephanie (Aaron) Eveatt & family of Colorado Springs and Sonny Mora of Fountain, CO. Daniel took immense pride in being a grandfather, with ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, whom he lovingly referred to as his "little critters."
He is also survived by his brother, David Clark (Fran) Basham of Colorado Springs, and his sister-in-law, Stephanie (John) Cullinane of Fowler, CO.
In addition to his family, a special thanks is extended to Jereme from Sangre De Cristo Home Health Care of La Junta for providing wonderful care to Daniel over the years.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Ernest and Frieda Basham, along with two sisters and two brothers-in-law: Jane (Vincent) Greer, Patty (Tom) Knudsen, and his brother, James.
Daniel B. Basham Sr. will be remembered not only for his contributions in his professional life but also for the love and devotion he held for his family. His kindness and dedication to those around him leave a lasting impact on the lives he touched.
