Beatrice JoAnn Ferguson, age 79, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, in West Branch, MI. She was born on January 21, 1945, in Flint, MI to Leo and Dorothy (Wentworth) Johnsen. Beatrice lived in St. Helen, MI for the past 18 years, formerly of Rose City, MI.
Beatrice found joy in various hobbies and interests including playing bingo, games on her phone, cards - especially euchre - and crocheting. Her lively spirit will be dearly missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Beatrice is survived by her daughters Karen (Mark) Smith and Dianne (David) Seward; her son Jamie Caroll; her grandchildren: Brandon Smith, Jeff (Angie) Smith, Mark (Brittany) Smith, Kayla (Ryan) Foster, David (Anna) Seward, Danielle (Greg) Sancrant, and Blake Seward. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Letty, Larae, Lucy, Emily, Eli, Brooklyn, Erynn, Owen, Jayce, Victoria, Jaiden, Malachai, and Asher; sister Shirley Nau; and brother Donny Johnsen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter Ferguson, son Wally, sisters Beverly, Gloria, Patsy, Sharon, and Sheryl, and brothers Leo and Leroy.
The visitation will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Monday, May 13, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 1:00 PM with visitation starting at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at Rose City Cemetery in Rose City. Dr. David Hansen, Pastor will officiate.
Beatrice's legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on through the memories shared by all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
