Beatrice Golden, age 78, passed away on June 2, 2025 at her home in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia.
Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to the late John and Luisa Smith. She attended OMC and Girls High School and later graduated from Abington Friends High School. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Temple University. Professionally Beatrice taught at the (M) Montessori School after owning Springfield Children’s House for over 20 years. She later taught at Gladwyne Montessori until retiring in 2002.
After retiring, Beatrice enjoyed traveling with her husband to Europe, Central and South America and parts of Asia. She taught piano lessons and loved painting, studying at PAFA, the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts as well as with the professional artist Carlo Russo, exhibiting her artwork in select galleries within Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Harold Golden; one son William (April) Golden and one grandson Isaac; two siblings John (Randy) and Martin Cruz (Emily) Smith; nieces Becky, Luisa and Nell; nephews Chris and Sam; grandnieces Marisa, Scarlett and Daisy and grandnephews Benito, Rafael and Jackson.
Relatives and friends are invited to funeral services, Thursday, June 5, 2025, 11:00AM, Joseph Levine & Sons, 4737 Street Rd., Trevose, PA. Chapel services may be viewed live at https://www.levinefuneral.com/trevose-webcam.html.
Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Shiva will be observed at the residence of April and William Golden (Thursday only).
