Beatrice Nix, 75, a resident of Biloxi, MS, passed away on October 7, 2024, at Biloxi Merit Hospital.
She was born in Biloxi, MS, on July 6, 1949. Beatrice was the daughter of the late Johnny and Annie Bell Morrisette. Beatrice attended Sadie V. Thompson in Natchez; MS. Beatrice was married to the late Elijah Nix on November 22, 1993.
Beatrice spent her working career as a head cook at Moore’s Community house, Boomtown casino, and Buena Vista hotel. Beatrice loved praising the Lord, being with family and traveling especially to Natchez, MS.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband Elijah Nix; her parents Johnny and Annie Bell Morrisette all of Biloxi, MS: Two sisters Annie Mae Thompson and Katheryn Moultrie both of Natchez, MS; one brother Johnny Morrisette, Jr of Houston, TX; one Nephew Darrelle Moultrie of Biloxi, MS.
She leaves to cherish her memories to her three children Jacqueline Morrisette, Tony Morrisette (Nora) Michael Morrisette (Sharon) all of Biloxi, MS. Three sisters, Clara Mae McBride of Houston, TX; Mary Ann Tate of Biloxi, MS; Yvette (Leonard) Minor of LaPlace, LA and one brother David Morrisette of Biloxi, MS. Eight grandchildren Roshenna Henderson, Tykeria Morrisette Kemp (Rico), Schatorious Redmon, Shanika Handford, Brandon Wilson all of Biloxi, MS Padra Daughtry (Jonathan) of Kansas City Missouri Darius Redmon (Asha) of Atlanta GA, Lavisha Redmon of Yorktown, VA and a host of nieces, nephew’s other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Beatrice Nix will be held on Saturday October 12, 2024, at 1:00 pm and St. John A.M.E. Visitation will start at 12:00 pm.
