Beau Ford, 52, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away December 5, 2025, at home surrounded by his wife and children. A memorial service will be held on June 13, 2026, at Windsurfer Beach at Hillsdale Lake, Kansas. Memorials can be made in Beau’s honor to the Wonder Fund at Wonderscope Children’s Museum of Kansas City.

Beau was born June 12, 1973, in Parsons, Kansas to Johnny and Debbie (Dorman) Ford and was raised in Overland Park, Kansas where he attended Shawnee Mission schools until the end of his sophomore year in high school. Just before Beau’s junior year, the family moved to the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area where Beau attended and graduated from Egan High School. He attended South Dakota State University and then returned to the twin cities and began working full time. After relocating to Spring Hill, Ks he began working for the City of Spring Hill in 2000. He held various positions with the city prior to becoming the Parks Superintendent. Beau took immense pride in providing and maintaining excellent park facilities for the citizens of Spring Hill, taking his greatest pride from organizing the construction and opening of the Spring Hill Aquatic Center in 2006. He was also the original organizer of the Spring Hill Daffodil Days.

Beau loved the outdoors, spending a large amount of his free time fishing and boating. Family time often involved boating at Hillsdale Lake or Table Rock Lake. He loved all kinds of music, especially going to live music performances. A love of jam bands was part of what created the bond between Beau and his wife, Cassie. Beau followed in his mother’s footsteps by being highly creative. He created crazy Halloween costumes for the kids and planned elaborate New Year’s celebrations for his kids and his nephews that included elaborate decorations, game competition brackets, and prizes. He also expressed his creativity through woodworking and Legos. Beau also was a sports fan, primarily of motorsports. He loved Formula 1 but also followed many other motor sports, enjoying watching (and driving) anything that goes fast.

Beau’s proudest achievement was his three children – Christian, Atticus and Machaela. He was thrilled that they had all found good jobs and were supporting themselves and living happy lives. He loved being able to see all of them frequently and even planned “field trips” when the kids were available. His greatest sadness was that he was never able to greet any grandchildren as he could not wait to share his love of nature and learning with them.

Beau was preceded in death by his nephew, Joshua Hoston. He is survived by his wife, Cassie (Colville) of the home; his parents Johnny and Debbie Ford of Spring Hill, KS; his sister Courtney Ford of Spring Hill, KS; his sons Christian Ford and fiancée Sara Riley of Gardner, KS and Atticus Ford of the home; his daughter Machaela Brooks and her husband Jordan of Kansas City, MO; and his nephews Jared Hoston, Spring Hill, KS and Jordan Hoston, Kansas City, MO.
