Bedie "Jane" Stopher, age 81, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Jane's warmth and unwavering kindness touched all who knew her.
Born on December 19, 1943, to Lawrence and Amye Sneed, Jane grew up in a large and loving family, where deep values of faith, hard work, and family connection were instilled early and stayed with her throughout her life. She carried those values into everything she did-from her career to her relationships and the way she lovingly cared for her family. Jane was a proud member of Hikes Point Christian Church.
Jane spent over two decades working in retail sales at Macy's Department Store, where her bright smile, impeccable style, and gracious manner left a lasting impression on both customers and coworkers alike. Her dedication, patience, and genuine nature made her not only an outstanding employee but also a cherished colleague and friend.
A passionate fan of University of Louisville sports, Jane could often be found cheering on the Cardinals, whether from the stands or her favorite chair at home. Her love for the team was matched only by the joy she found in her greatest role-being a grandmother. Her grandchildren, Cameron and Emily, were the light of her life. Whether attending their school events or simply spending time together, Jane's presence made every moment feel special.
Jane's life was a testament to love, resilience, and grace. She was the heart of her family, and her legacy lives on through the lives of her children: Angela House (Scott), David Stopher (Jennifer), and Daniel Stopher; and her adored grandchildren, Cameron and Emily House and Victoria and Abigayle Jones. She also leaves behind her beloved siblings: Margaret Vittitow (Joe), Edna Doherty, Ruby Markert, and Bobby Sneed.
She now joins in eternal peace her loving husband, Ronald Stopher; her parents, Lawrence and Amye Sneed; and her siblings: Mildred Clark, Marzella Lochner, Helen Berk, Bernard Sneed, Louise Combs, Crecie Britt, Lawrence Sneed, Janet Thompson, Billy Sneed and Howard Sneed, and her daughter in law's, Stephanie Stopher and Melissa Stopher.
Jane's life will be honored and celebrated during visitation on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway,
Jeffersonville, Indiana. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
Though she has left this world, Jane's loving spirit, joyful heart, and the many memories she created will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
