Behruz Abadi Obituary

Dr. Behruz J. Abadi, a respected dentist, educator, and international lecturer,
passed away on July 23, 2025, at the age of 84. He resided in Nicholasville,
Kentucky.
Born in Tehran, Iran, to Ebraham and Rukhsareh Rahimi, Dr. Abadi pursued a
lifelong passion for dentistry and education. He earned his dental degree from
the University of Istanbul and went on to complete his specialization in
Prosthodontics at the University of Rochester's Eastman Dental Center.
Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Abadi taught more than 1,500 students
at the University of Kentucky. He was chosen by his peers as one of Kentucky's
Top Dentists in 2011. He was awarded Teacher of the Year 10 times.
He shared his expertise around the world as a frequent speaker at international
dental conferences. He authored numerous publications and was instrumental in
advancing dental implant techniques, including introducing modern methods to
clinics abroad.
Dr. Abadi was not only a gifted teacher and researcher but also a deeply
compassionate clinician. He loved treating patients and was known for accepting
and resolving some of the most challenging cases, often referred to him because
of his unmatched skill and experience in prosthodontics.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diane, and two sons, James and Serder Abadi.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Dr. Abadi was also a lifelong soccer
fan and cherished every opportunity to mentor young dental professionals.
services will be held at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Harrodsburg Road. at 12:30PM
Friday, August 15th, 2025. visitation will be prior from 10:30AM until the time of service
Burial to follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.
Dr. Abadi will be remembered for his brilliance, kindness, and the lasting impact
he made on his profession and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
