Dodge City - Beki Jo Vieux, 80, died July 22, 2024 at St. Catherine's Hospital in Dodge City, Kansas. She was born on September 25, 1943 in Dodge City, the daughter of Gerald and Mary (Smalley) Wilson.
She married Eugene Vieux on December 3, 1961 in Jetmore, Kansas. She was raised in rural Hodgeman County and graduated from Jetmore High School. Beki Jo worked as an Administrative Assistant for many years. She loved cooking large meals for her family and teaching her grandchildren how to bake. She was well known for her delicious homemade pies. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events, performances, or any other activities that they were involved in. Beki Jo also enjoyed playing cards and board games with her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband Eugene Vieux of the home; one daughter Roxanne Chance and husband Tracy of Dodge City; one son Richard Vieux and wife Kimberly of Valley Center, Kansas; and one brother Roger Wilson and wife Carla of Carl Junction, Missouri. She is also survived by six grandchildren Ashley Cornfield and husband Cary; Cody Chance and wife Marlene; Wyatt Vieux; and Drew Chance, as well as two great grandchildren, Ahleyla and Easton.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be held at First Christian Church on Monday July 29, 2024 at 10:30 AM with Mr. Dusty Cookson presiding. Burial will be at 2:00 PM Monday, July 29, 2024 at Fairmount Cemetery in Jetmore. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral chapel on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church in care of the funeral home. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
