Belayna "Bella" Amaya – English Version Belayna "Bella" Amaya "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the lord my soul to keep; his love to guard me through the night, and wake me with his heavenly light, amen." "May the lord keep watch between us to make sure that we keep this covenant when we are out of each other's sight." - Genesis 31: 49 "When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen." - Isaiah 60:22 "But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you." - Luke 6:27 Belayna "Bella" Amaya, age 14, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on October 18, 2025. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and grew up in Wichita, where she brought so much light, laughter, and love to everyone around her. Bella's personality was bright and full of life. Her energy was loud, vibrant, and contagious - you could always hear her goofy laugh from across the room. She had a kind, beautiful soul, and she had this incredible ability to make people feel special just by being near her. Recently, Bella found a new passion as a nail enthusiast. She loved creating art through her nail designs, and she really enjoyed the opportunity to help others feel good about themselves. She had a creative eye and a gentle touch that made her work stand out. She loved listening to music, and you would often find her vibing out to anything that made her feel good. Her personal style was cute and cool, a sneakers over sandals type of girl, and she always prepared her outfits for the day and took care of her beautiful curly hair. Bella was a rare pick, a vivacious individual who brought color and joy wherever she went. She loved hanging out with her friends and just having a good time, which wasn't hard when she was around. More than anything, Bella loved her family deeply. She was close to her mom, dad, sister, brother, and friends. Her love for them showed in the way she cared, laughed, and lived. Bella was a sweet soul - an angel who continues to send never-ending love and encouragement. Her presence will always be felt in every laugh, every song, and every bit of light she left behind. She will forever be remembered, loved, and missed by all who knew her. Belayna "Bella" Amaya – Versión en Español

Ms. Brooke Burrough - Communication Upward Bound

October 24, 2025

The Communication Upward Bound community was saddened when we heard the news of Belayna´s passing. I had the pleasure of meeting with her during my bi-weekly school visits. She entered the room with that beautiful smile. She started off a little quiet, but by the end of our visit she was laughing and excited about her next opportunities. Bella it was a pleasure to serve you for the time I had you as a participant. Rest sweet angel. Ms. Burrough -CUB program manager & CUB staff
