It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Destiny Nicole Amaya, age 16, of Dallas, Texas, who left us far too soon on August 28, 2025.
Destiny was a bright light whose laughter, energy, and love for life touched everyone who knew her. She was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and friend who will be deeply missed.
Destiny is survived by her mother, Daisy Amaya, and her father, Eduardo Amaya; her brothers, Wale Awoniyi, Christian Amaya, Joel Amaya, Jordan Demus; her sisters, Maya Amaya and Arianna Amaya; her grandmother, Graciela Lazo; her uncles, Leonel Anguiano, and Cristian Anguiano; and her aunts, Adali Anguiano and Mayra Anguiano. Her cousins, and nephew.
A junior in high school, Destiny balanced her studies with her job, where she worked hard and took pride in her independence. She was a young woman with many talents and passions. She loved listening to music, dancing, and spending hours building Legos. She was active in cheerleading, soccer, and gymnastics, always giving her best and inspiring those around her. Destiny was especially proud of buying her own car, which she enjoyed investing her time and effort into, making it uniquely hers.
Destiny's life, though far too short, was filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. She will always be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her kindness, and the happiness she brought to her family and friends.
