Ben DeWyth McWilliams passed away on July 6, 2025, in Fort Collins, Colorado. He was born on November 29, 1967, in Houston, Texas. Ben graduated from Westfield High School in 1987. After high school, he pursued a career in aviation, obtaining a license in airframe and powerplant. He worked in the aviation industry for many years and was an accomplished aircraft mechanic.
Ben enjoyed the outdoors and found great pleasure in fishing, jet skiing, dirt bikes, boats, and spending time in nature. During his later years, he followed high school/college sports. He loved the excitement of game nights in the stadium. He was especially proud of his involvement with Colorado State University. These were the places he felt most at peace.
Ben's heart was unmatched. He gave selflessly to those around him, always ready to lend a hand or share with others. His generosity touched countless lives, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all that knew him. He was a fierce protector of his family and others that he loved. He always spoke up for what was right. We will miss his laugh--loud, real, and contagious. We will miss his stories and the entertaining manner in which they were delivered. But most of all, we will miss the way he made us feel. Go rest high on the mountain Ben. Your work on earth is done.
He is survived by his siblings: La'donna (Shawn) Holliday, Jim (Sherry) McWilliams, Andrea McWilliams, Sondra (Jimmy) Richardson, Kathleen McWilliams, John (Jeanette) McWilliams, Mary (David) Hickman, and Tommy McWilliams. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Ben.
Ben was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ben and Naomi McWilliams, and his sister, Phyllis (Fred) Warner. He will be laid to rest in the family plot at Klein Cemetery in Tomball, Texas.
