Benedict R. Knoppe, 80, of St. Louis, MO, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Mercy South in St. Louis, Missouri.
Ben was born on June 22, 1943, to Joseph and Martha (Bucher) Knoppe in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Ben enjoyed spending time with family and friends. In his younger years, Ben loved to run marathons and travel. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Louis. Ben was also a member of the United States Army and served in Vietnam.
Ben is survived by five sisters, Margaret (Mark) Gannon, Philomenia (Jerry) Hirtz, Helen (Charlie) Higgs, Angela (Bill) Coonce, and Rose Ann Lamb; three brothers, Herman (Janet), Phillip, and Maurice (Colletta) Knoppe; along with numerous extended family and friends.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Jo Kayser; brother, Frank Knoppe.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 10:00-11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Poplar Bluff. Funeral Mass to follow beginning at 11:00am. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
