Benjamin Keith Davis, age 86 of Corbin, Kentucky departed this life on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin.
He was born on February 27, 1939 in Copley, Ohio to the late Benjamin Davis and Gladys Davis.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ann Wills Davis; daughters Laura Davis Belanger (Paul), Carolyn Carter (Robert); a granddaughter, Sophia Rose Carter and a step-grandson, Seth Carter; sisters Phyllis Pitz and Joyce Basler (deceased); and many nieces and nephews to mourn his passing.
Benjamin grew up in Barberton, Ohio and earned a BS of Science at Denison University. He then earned a BA at the University of Kentucky and went on to Law School at UK and graduated in 1969. Ben entered the United States Army JAG Corps and he served for four years. He then moved to Corbin, Kentucky where he practiced law for 26 years and in 1999 became an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney for Whitley and McCreary Counties until his retirement in 2017.
Ben was very active in the Kentucky Bar Association where he was a member of Phi Delta Phi, earned the title of Senior Counselor, was honored as a Charter Fellow and earned countless accolades for his devotion to the law. He was a member of Central Baptist church and served as a deacon as well as teaching bible studies. Ben's dedication to education, sports, the outdoors, and the bible laid a rich foundation for his family. Pursuant to the wishes of the decedent, there was no public visitation or funeral. He was laid to rest by O'Neil-Lawson Funeral Home at the Machpelah Cemetery in Mount Sterling, KY after a family service there.
