Benjamin Robert Fessel, one month old son of Kevin and Michelle (Knoll) Fessel passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023. Affectionately known as Benny, he was born on August 29, 2023, in Louisville, Kentucky. Benny was deeply loved by his family and their friends. Though he lived only a short time, his impact was quite large. Benny is survived by his parents, his siblings Brody, Bryce and Abigail of Depauw, IN his grandparents John & Susan Knoll of LaPorte, IN and Robert & Vickie Fessel of Depauw, Great Grandmother Eileen Fulton of Angola, IN, He is also survived by a large family that includes loving aunts, uncles and cousins, Michael & Stephanie Griesinger (Jacob and Allie) of Carver, MN, Jason & Kathy Skaggs of Ramsey, IN, and Gary & Erica Fessel (Ava, Owen, Ellie, and Adrienne) of Depauw, IN. He is preceded in death by his uncle Anthony Fessel and great grandparents Harold & Betty Knoll, Donald Fulton, Clyde & Lucille Fessel and Robert & Katie Wiechart. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 10 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church, 11400 Farmers Lane NE Greenville, IN, 47124. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 4 PM to 8 PM and again from 9 AM until the time of the Mass on Friday. Arrangements are entrusted to Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, IN. The Fessel family would like to thank the staff of the Ronald McDonald House of Kentuckiana, the Antepartum unit at Norton Hospital Downtown, and the "3 West" team at Norton Children's Hospital for their support and friendship, as well as the many family members and friends who have joined the family in prayer and shared acts of kindness on Benny's behalf.
