UNION SPRINGS - Benjamin M. Gilfus, 40, of Union Springs, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, October 2, 2023. Born in Auburn October 15, 1982, he is the son of Douglas Gilfus and the late Donna (Ford) Gilfus. Ben was a graduate of Union Springs Central School, Class of 2000, and continued his education at SUNY Morrisville, Paul Smith's College and SUNY ESF.
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, tending to his garden and growing his own produce. A truly genuine person, Ben would do anything for anyone. He really cared about people, but above all, he loved his two children unconditionally.
He is survived by his father, Douglas; his two young children: daughter, Skylar and son, Wyatt; and their mother, Winter Ingleston; one brother, Scott Gilfus (Kristen); sister, Danielle Gilfus (Jose Reyes); a niece, Jayla Reyes; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his mother, Donna, Ben is predeceased by both his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are with White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South Street, Auburn.
