McGahee-Griffin & McEntire Funeral HomeBenjamin "Benny" Reed Hewatt, a beloved member of his family and community, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the age of 57. Born on September 23, 1968, Benny touched the lives of many through his warmth, love for music, and he enjoyed fishing.
Benny held the roles of father and grandfather. He is survived by his daughter, Samatha Hewatt; his son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Stephanie Hewatt; and his granddaughter, Nevaeh Dodd. He leaves behind numerous extended family members who will cherish his memory and the joy brought into their lives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Reed Hewatt, and his mother, Betty Jane Stewart Woodruff. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the New Vision Worship Center in Alto, Georgia, starting at 3:00 PM, with Pastor Dennis Rafala officiating. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a loving man who was a friend to everyone he met.
