Benjamin David Klump, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on June 17, 2025. He was a devoted husband, a proud dad, grandpa, and farmer. He was also a loyal friend to many. If you knew Ben, you probably knew him for his steady dedication to his family, his dry sense of humor and, of course, his unbeatable sweet corn. He grew up working beside his dad on the family farm, something he took pride in from a young age.
Ben was born on April 28, 1963, to David and Margaret Klump. He married the love of his life, Pamela, on April 25, 1998. Everything Ben did - every long day on the farm - was for her.
Ben had an unwavering faith in Christ and was a member of Blissfield Baptist Church. He passed his convictions onto his four children, who all remain strong in their faith due to his example. He truly lived his life daily in a way that would make his beliefs evident to everyone around him.
Ben's heart was big, and his love wasn't limited to just his own kids. He was well known to be a father to the fatherless, becoming a daddy to his step-children when he married Pam. He was a rock for many to rely on, including his "Colombian Daughter" Jessi, his widowed mom Margaret, and his sons-in-law and daughter-in-law. No matter the situation, he would step up without hesitation - always there, always reliable, always loving.
Though Ben was a private person, those closest to him knew his softer, funnier side. He was a huge Disney and Star Wars fan and loved going to rock concerts. He had a sense of humor that would get everyone laughing with his perfectly timed movie quotes and silly inside jokes.
Ben loved his family more than anything. He treated Pam like a queen, always spoiling her and making sure she got her way. He wasn't too proud to sit down and play Barbies or make a trip to the American Girl Doll store if it meant making his girls smile. He adored his grandkids and would be the first to pick them up from the church nursery just to get a few more moments with them.
Ben was preceded in death by his father, David Klump, and brother, Daniel Klump. His legacy is the love he gave, the values he lived by, and the countless lives he touched.
Ben is survived by his wife, Pam; his children, Nathan (Amanda) Cousino, Chelsea (Benjamin) Roohr, Melanie Klump, and Emilia (Trenton) Patterson; grandchildren, Wyatt, Emmaline, Levi, Beckett, and Florence; mother, Margaret Klump; brother, John Klump; sisters, Linda (Jeff) Moser, Carol (Doug) Matthews, Virginia (Andy) Rogers, Marcia (Mark) Crots and Mary (Ron) Keefer; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, neighbors and farmers.
Visitation at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Road (at Jackman rd.) Temperance, Michigan, will begin on Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 1:00 - 8:00 pm. Graveside services on friday will be private. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Blissfield Baptist Church, 717 South Blissfield Hwy, Blissfield, Michigan 49228 with a luncheon to follow. In honor of Ben, the family asks that you do something kind for someone else-because that's exactly what he would've done. Donations can be made to Blissfield Baptist Church or Compassion International
