Benjamin (Ben) Lowe Langston, 93, of Houston Texas, passed away on November 25, 2022. Ben was born September 20, 1929, in Alexandria, Louisiana to Earl and Beulah Lowe Langston. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Carl Langston, his sister Virginia Langston, and his eldest daughter Angela Mcmillan. He is survived by his wife Fredna McBay Langston of 68 years of marriage; daughter Susan Zimicki; son Ben Langston Jr; daughter-in-law Connie Langston; and grandchildren James Mcmillan, Eric Zimicki, Leah Langston, and Seth Langston.
Ben grew up in Alexandria, Louisiana where he was active in the First Presbyterian Church and the Boy Scouts. Ben graduated from Bolton High School in 1946 and Southeastern Louisiana College in 1950. Ben served two years in the US Army, and then started a long career with Western Geophysical as a geophysicist and executive, living in Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, West Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma before settling in Houston in 1968. He retired from Western Geophysical in 1992.
In retirement, Ben enjoyed golf, all Houston sports teams, bridge, reading, and spending time with his family. Ben was a long-time member of Pines Presbyterian in Houston, Texas.
Ben was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be laid to rest Saturday, December 3, 2022, 1:30 pm at Moore Funeral service in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
