It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Benjamin Lee Oglesby, a beloved father, brother, and friend, who departed this life on December 31, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on April 16, 1934, in Pleasant Hope, Missouri, Benjamin lived a life marked by hard work, dedication, and a deep love for his family.
Benjamin proudly served in the Navy during the Korean War, and was on the DD754 Frank E Evans USS Destroyer. A time that shaped his character and commitment to service. Upon returning home, he found his calling as a chemical operator at Sentex, where he dedicated many years of his life, forging lasting friendships. Known for his infectious smile and generous spirit, Ben enjoyed attending breakfast meetings with his fellow Sentex retirees, and his best friend Bobby. where stories and laughter filled the air.
A true enthusiast, Ben adored NASCAR and often spent weekends reveling in the thrill of the race. His passion for antique cars was evident as he eagerly participated in shows, sharing his love of history and craftsmanship with others.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his cherished daughters, Ruth Story and Juanita Arbuckle, his son, Clifford Bryan, his devoted brother, Jack Oglesby; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Benny's warmth and humor will be missed by all who knew him.
