Benjamin "Bennie" Royce Panko, 20, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away on December 17, 2025.

Born in Denver, Colorado, Bennie was known to those close to him as intelligent, sweet, and genuinely kind. He carried a thoughtful nature and a gentle presence, often marked by inquisitive ideas and personable conversations. Though his life was not without struggle, he valued his relationships with those around him, even when his actions at times shown otherwise.

Benjamin was preceded in death by his mother, Rachael Lesueur, who passed away in June of 2021, and maternal grandmother, Connie Coln, who passed away in November of 2005. He is survived by his maternal grandfather Greg Coln and wife Mary; his aunts, Nicole Gunther and Ashlee Panko (Lynn); and his cousins, Paige Gunther, Harper Panko, Bligh Panko, and Bannock Panko. He was deeply loved by his family, and his absence will be felt in ways both profound and quiet.

Bennie's life, though brief, mattered. Those who knew him will remember his intelligence, his kindness, and the moments of genuine connection they shared. Many close to him experienced the highest highs and lowest lows. During the good times, Bennie showed the promise and brilliance that he could change the world. During the bad times, we could only hope he'd make it to tomorrow. In honoring his memory, family and friends are encouraged to hold close the good times, the laughter, and the memories that impacted us for the better.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Chesapeake Chapel, located at 929 S. Battlefield Blvd. The service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person. Family and friends are welcome to share memories and extend condolences by visiting www.altmeyerfh.com
