The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM on Monday, May 20th, 2024 at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Filbert Hwy York, SC. A service celebrating the life of Jay will be held at 2 PM in the chapel of Bratton Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Ayers officiating.
Jay was born on November 5th, 1961 in Reidsville, NC. He was the son of the late Larry Keith Shively and Emily Ward Shively.
Jay is survived by his wife, Loretta Timmons Shively, and his children, Tabbatha Vasquez (Luis), Russell Keith Shively (Christina), Thomas Chase Shively (Candace), and Michael Christopher Burdette (Lauren). Also surviving are his grandchildren: Lilliana Vasquez, Jasmine Vasquez, Ryleigh Shively, Benjamin Shively, Anthony Shively, Kylie Shively, Ainsley Burdette, Sydni Burdette, Moxcy Gamache, and Major Gamache; and his siblings, Ann Marie Shively, and Martin Lee Shively.
In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by his brother, Rusty Shively.

It was always a pleasure to visit him he was always a pleasure to see. I always looked forward to our visits. He never complained and he and his wife Loretta were always cordial, they offered me something to drink at all my visits. He will be missed and loved by our work family

Every time I came to visit Jay, we laughed the entire time about everything and nothing. He was one of the kindiest most loving person I know and he will live in my heart forever. Love,hugs and prayers to Loretta and family.
