In Loving Memory of Benjamin Adam Skivers
Benjamin Adam Skivers, lovingly known by many as "Pirate", "Bad Boy Benny," or "Big Tymer Ben," passed away unexpectedly on October 16, 2025, at the age of 44.
Born on May 14, 1981, in Clermont, Florida, to Kem and Nanette (Burns) Skivers, Ben grew up surrounded by family, laughter, and stories that shaped the man everyone knew and loved. He spent most of his life in Groveland, Florida, before later moving to the Fremont, Michigan area. Ben was a familiar face to many through his years with Pugh Shows – America's Finest Midway – where he worked hard, made friends everywhere he went, and became a part of so many people's memories.
Ben was one of a kind. He had a gift for making people laugh. His humor, stories, and larger-than-life personality could fill a room and make anyone feel like a friend. Behind that humor was a heart that cared deeply. He loved fiercely, gave freely, and always found a way to make people smile, even on the hardest days. He will be remembered for his stories, his laughter, and the love he had for his family and friends.
He is survived by his two daughters, Jaden Skivers and Sasha Skivers; his beloved grandson, Parker Erickson Jr. (PJ); his father, Kem Skivers; two brothers, Tony Walton and Joseph Skivers; nephews, Davon Walton and Braydon Walton; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nanette Skivers; brother, Nicholas Skivers; grandmother, Helen Inman; and cousin, Forrest Burns Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at The Blind Squirrel in Fremont, from 5pm to 9pm. Family and friends are invited to come together to share stories, laughter, and memories - just as Ben would have wanted.
Though his time here was far too short, the impact he left on those who loved him will never fade. His laughter, his stories, and his love will live on forever in our hearts.
We'll keep telling your stories, Big Tymer.
