Geraldine "Tutty" Skivers

Geraldine Tutty Skivers, age 93, of Stilwell, KS, entered her eternal home on Saturday, August 20, 2022. She was born on Monday, September 3, 1928, the daughter of Otis and Ethel (Williams) Lawrence.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 27, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Stilwell, 19950 Broadmoor Ln, Stilwell, KS 66085. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Aubry Cemetery.
Tutty was a loving wife and devoted mother to her children. She raised her son on her own when her husband died, leaving her a widow at the age of 50. She worked for the Blue Valley School District for many years. During most of her time at the school, she often worked two jobs in order to support herself and her son. She will be remembered by all as the wonderful person she was!
Tutty was preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Skivers Jr., two daughters; Judith Ann Sottnick and Loeta Jane Keenan, grandson Michael Justin Keenan, her parents, Otis and Ethel Lawrence, and two sisters; Maxine Kinnison and Shirley Kirk.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Ken) Kure, of Stilwell, KS, son Doug Skivers, of Adrian, MO, daughter-in-law Jennifer Skivers, of Overland Park, KS, two sisters; Barbara Mallicoat and Sue Keeney, one brother, Chuck Lawrence, eight grandchildren; Nick Kure, Kathy Whitmer, Cory Herndon, Shanna Drew, Chad Keenan, Jennifer Secor, Mackie and Gracie Skivers, 30 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
Tutty had a deep faith in God that carried her through many difficult times in her life. Her spunkiness kept her going, and you always knew what was on her mind. She will be greatly missed by all, but she will always be alive in our hearts.
Tutty spent her last days at Spring Hill Care and Rehab. The family would like to thank the staff for their dedication and care, but most of all for loving her as much as we did.
