Benjamin Franklin Solomon, 92, of 1138 Gentry Ridge Rd., Roxboro, died Friday, January 9, 2026. Born in Person County, Mr. Solomon was the son of the late Bennie Thomas and Pearlie McKee Solomon and husband of the late Ann Foushee Solomon. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Elbert Solomon, Harvey Solomon, Elizabeth Hatcher and Getsy Day. Mr. Solomon retired after over 44 years with the Person County Tax Office. Growing up, Mr. Solomon was an avid athlete and pitched for a Chicago Cubs farm team. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Solomon enjoyed camping, fishing and especially driving around "Miss Ann". He was always involved with any family outdoor working project and he was a UNC Tarheel fan.
Mr. Solomon is survived by two children, Keith Solomon and wife Sherry, and Donna Duncan and husband Keith; one brother, Joe Solomon; one sister, Diane Dean; three grandchildren, Austin Welch and wife Nicole, Ashley Poole and husband Stephen and Samantha Wrenn and husband Brent; five step-grandchildren, Chris Chandler, Rusty Chandler, Heather Sanford, Travis Duncan and Haley Barnwell; six great-grandchildren, Cameron Welch, Delayna Welch, Luke Poole, Summer Poole, Brenna Wrenn, and Brielle Wrenn; ten step-great-grandchildren, Courtney Davis, Caleb Chandler, Camryn Chandler, Ceanne Chandler, Cason Chandler, Keegan Sanford, Creed Chandler, Mackenzie Smith, Kamryn Smith and Molly Duncan; one great-great-grandchild, Aubrey Davis.
Funeral services will be held 2PM Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at the Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Jack Ruth. Burial will follow in Burchwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1-2PM Tuesday and at other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be Joey Solomon, Jon Solomon, Charles Solomon, Brent Davis, Rusty Chandler, Gregg Foushee.
