Bennie Blueitt, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025, at the age of 72. He was born on December 14, 1952, in Columbia, Missouri, to Fred and Estell (Turner) Blueitt. Bennie will be remembered for his warm spirit, strong work ethic, and his deep love for his family.
Bennie attended Douglass High School in Columbia, Missouri. Throughout his life, he worked with dedication at various jobs, including at Tricon, Ron's Country Boy (Lucy's), and as a mason. Bennie was known for his love of life, his passion for fishing, and his enjoyment of sports and staying informed through the news.
Above all, Bennie cherished spending time with his children and family. His kids were his world, and he adored his role as a father and grandfather. His deep affection for his family extended to his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Bennie had a great sense of style and was known for his impressive collection of hats, always dressing to impress.
Bennie is survived by his children: Bennie Shawdale Blueitt and his wife Shamela, and Roshawn Cason; grandchildren: Kresha Jennings, Shamar, Shamon, Shamil, Benjamin, Bayleigh, and Kevin Harris; great-grandchildren: Siya and Charm; siblings: Ernest Blueitt, Fred Blueitt, Marcelle Lige, Lenetta Dixon, and Patricia Blueitt; and one aunt, Mary Catherine Turner. He also leaves behind a special friend, Cynthia Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Bennie was predeceased by, Darlene Blueitt, and his parents, Fred Blueitt and Estell Turner. He was also preceded in death by his siblings: Major Blueitt, Carrie Redden, and Risa Warrick.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Parker-Millard Funeral Service, followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m. A repast will be hosted at Parker-Millard Funeral Service as well. Interment of Bennie's ashes will take place at a later date. Bennie's family would like to thank everyone for their support and kindness during this time.
Bennie's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to his family will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
