Robert Glenn Fletcher Jr.
Glen passed away on October 2, 2025 at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in
Columbia, MO, surrounded by family and numerous friends.
Glen was born in McHenry, IL on February 19, 1966 to Robert Glenn Fletcher, Sr. and Peggy June Lynn Fletcher. After many moves throughout his childhood, the Fletchers settled in Chesterfield, MO in 1978. Glen attend Parkway Central Middle and High Schools where he excelled in baseball, football and golf until graduation in 1984. Glen briefly played baseball at Jefferson College where he was recruited to play at Auburn University with the likes of Bo Jackson. After college, Glen joined the Navy serving in the Gulf War, achieving the rank of Lt. Commander. Glen transitioned from the Navy to serving with the Department of Defense. In 2011, Glen met his future wife, Heather Dimitt. He left the Department of Defense and went to work for 804 Technologies, later starting his own business. He and Heather married in 2016 building a robust life in
Columbia, MO full of travel, college athletics, pets, family and friends. Glen strongly believed in investing in kids, adored his nieces and nephews (both familial and honorary), and coached youth football. He mentored fellow veterans, especially those living with PTSD. Glen also enjoyed spending time outdoors and at Heather's family farms. In 2020, Glen was diagnosed with two types of pancreatic cancer. He continued being a leader who looked out for others by participating in multiple cancer treatment trials, helping expand the standard of care for other patients.
Described as a bright spirit, an incredible person, and a beautiful giant of a human, Glen will be deeply missed. He is survived by his loving wife Heather Dimitt-Fletcher and their sweet pup, Indy, of
Columbia, MO, parents Robert and Peggy Fletcher of Warson Woods, MO, brother Charles Fletcher of New York, NY, sister Karen Fletcher Roth (Michael) of Warson Woods, MO, father-in-law Robert Dimitt (Diana) of Wheeling, MO, father-in-law Gary Whorton of Trenton, MO, brother-in-law Dustin Whorton (Tiffany) of Trenton, MO, brother-in-law Michael Gillilan (Valerie) of Platte City, MO and many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Friday, October 17 from 2pm to 5pm at the Country Club of Missouri, 1300 Woodrail Ave,
Columbia, MO.
