Bennie Richard Shobe, Sr., was born on, November 4, 1936, a son of the late Alex and Clara Shobe, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. From Bennie's youth until his illness, he worshipped and was a Deacon with the Mt. Olla Baptist Church in Smiths Grove, KY. As a graduate of High Street High School, he enjoyed playing football and watched it avidly. His joy came from helping others so much that he became a volunteer firefighter with the Gott Fire Department. Bennie was mostly known as the "Coca-Cola man" due to his 60 years of service with Clark Beverage Company. His loyalty to Coca-Cola withstood many debates with family and friends.
On, June 1, 1958, Bennie married Emma Clara Burris of Glasgow, KY. After 27 years of sharing faith, family, farming and friends, Emma died of cancer on June 13, 1985. He found love and companionship again and married Elizabeth Ann Hayden of Park City, Ky, on June 16, 1990.
As we mourn Bennie, we know that his soul will join others that went before him. His parents Alec (1983) and Clara (1985); wife Emma (1985); siblings, Mary Eliza (2014), Alexander Hannibal (2010), and Frances Estell (1996); daughter in love Tunesia (2020), and granddaughters T'Nia and D'Nia (1995).
His family that will continue his legacy includes his wife of 35 years, Elizabeth 'Lizzy"; his children, Bennie with Kate of Lincoln, NE, Robert of Glasgow, KY, Tiffanie of Atlanta, GA, Shawn with Ashley of Louisville, KY; children through marriage include, Orlando of Park City, KY, and Reggie with Jennifer of Glasgow, KY; He was blessed with 10 grand-children; 7 great grandchildren; his brother, Tommy with Nellie Shobe; Generations of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews throughout Kentucky,
