Bennie Frank Williams passed on January 11, 2025. His full life is impossible to summarize in words and he will be missed forever. Bennie was born in Raleigh, NC, on January 31, 1943, to Benjamin Franklin Williams and Etheleen Morris Williams. Graduating from Broughton High School, he soon married the love of his life, Linda, and they shared 64 wonderful years of marriage. Their marriage was a shining example of what a true union should be. He was a generous, Christian, kind, and fun-loving "host with the most."
Bennie and Linda have two daughters: Dawn Talton (Alfred) and Wendy Pearce (Stuart); five grandsons: Fleming Talton, Ben Talton (Lacy), Neil Talton (fiancée Morgan), Tyler Pearce (Amber), Aubrey Pearce (Aubrey); two precious great-granddaughters: Vivian and Martha Talton. He also leaves behind two sisters-in-law: Joyce and Honey, a brother-in-law; Steve, and several nieces and nephews who dearly loved their uncle Bennie.
Bennie's successful career in the casualty insurance industry, with Allstate Insurance took him to his retirement years. Deer hunting was his second love after his wife and family. Being in and with nature was the focus. Bagging a big rack was the prize! Everyone from hunting buddies, family, work friends, neighbors, and anyone else he met along the way will remember his pleasant smile and gentle spirit. Bennie's Brunswick Stew recipe has been shared with many, but the special cooking technique is only his. Stir the stew slowly until the paddle stands alone. However, Bennie never stood alone. He had family and friends who loved him very much and always will.
A service to celebrate Bennie's life will be held at 1:30 pm, Sunday, January 19, 2025, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. The family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, anyone who feels inclined is encouraged to make donations in Bennie's honor to either of the following organizations: North Carolina Wildlife Federation at https://ncwf.org/membership-giving/ or Samaritan's Purse at http://samaritanspurse.org/our-ministry/donate-online
