Benny Joe Faulkner, of Columbia, Alabama, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025, after an extended illness. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 5:00-7:00pm at Green Hills Funeral Home with a chapel service on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 2:00pm. Burial will follow the service in Hinson Cemetery.
Benny was a country boy at heart. He enjoyed fishing off the bank of the pond or sitting by a campfire. Benny loved riding. Windows down, breeze in your face, looking at the horizon. Just riding to see what you could see. The scenery might change a little but he was always ready to ride. Early in his career, Benny was a forest ranger for Macon County before he became a firefighter at Ft. Rucker. Benny liked visiting with others and will be missed by all who knew him.
Loving survivors include his brother and sisters, Jerry Wiggins, Gayle McCrary (Johnny), Tammy Bujnowski, Janet Whitehead; his aunt, Mattie Pearl Faulkner; cousins, Victor Faulkner, Donna Combs (Patrick), Wynette Vass; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen & Robert Benjamin Wiggins and grandparents who raised him, Albert & Willie Mae Faulkner.
The staff of Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Faulkner family.
