Benny Andrew Sharpe, 73, of Sanford, NC, passed away on December 31, 2024.
Benny was born on March 13, 1951, in Lee County, NC, to the late Ben Joe and Mae Sharpe. He was preceded in death by his son, Parrish Sharpe, and his late wife, Pat Sharpe. Benny was also preceded in death by his siblings: Becky Kelly, Deanna Valle, Donna Bryant, Van Sharpe, and Frankie Sharpe.
He is survived by his daughter, Autumn Sharpe; sisters: Jenny Kennedy, Patty Stone, Frances Kelly, and Jackie Tart; and many cherished friends who loved him dearly. Benny is also survived by long term companion Polly Buchanan and special friends Barbara Simpson and Andrea Osborne.
Benny was the proud owner of Sharpe Trucking, where he delivered water to customers in Lee, Harnett, and surrounding counties for many years. Known for his strong work ethic and kind heart, Benny never met a stranger and was always known to bring a smile to others' faces with his quick wit and jokes. He had a unique ability to make others laugh and feel welcome, creating lasting friendships wherever he went.
Benny was also a loving pet owner, with his beloved dogs Sandy, Diesel, Bandit, and Chico by his side. He will be remembered for his warm smile, generous spirit, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 5th, 2025, at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home in Sanford, NC, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A private burial will follow.
