Benson Saucier Obituary

Visit the Riemann Family Funeral Homes - Gulfport website to view the full obituary.

Benson “Leamon” Saucier, age 80, of Saucier, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on July 26, 1945, in Gulfport, Mississippi.

Leamon is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carol Saucier; one sibling, Sadie Bond; one sister-in-law, Deloris Saucier; eight nephews; ten nieces; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benson and Madie Saucier; two brothers, Qunel (Iris) Saucier and Lawrence Saucier; three sisters, Bernice (Wilson) Bowman, Curnis (Charles) Jones, and Madie (Ralph) Case; two nephews, Kenny Saucier and David Saucier; two great-nephews, Cole Brewer and Matt Saucier; one great-niece, Amber Jones; and a very special brother-in-law, Ray Bond. Though family through marriage, they were brothers at heart.

Leamon was of the Baptist faith and attended Harrison Central High School. He was a welder who began his career at Irby Steel in 1965, where he faithfully worked for 40 years. He later worked at CMC for three years before retiring. Throughout the years, he maintained lasting friendships with many of his coworkers.

He was deeply passionate about farming and deer hunting and found serenity in the fields behind the wheel of his tractor. He loved cooking, and even more than that, he loved cooking for others. Known for giving everyone a nickname and rarely calling anyone by their given name, Leamon was a generous and caring man. He will be missed immensely but will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Gentiva Hospice, especially his nurses, Steven and Madonna, and his aide, Jamie. Special thanks are also extended to Timmy, Suzon, Jason, Nick and family, and Jeffrey and family. The family expresses extreme gratitude to LaDora and James for their dedicated care, day and night, during the last four weeks.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 23004 Saucier Advance Road, Saucier, MS 39574.

The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.

Burial will follow the service at Saucier and Bond Cemetery, 19596 B. Saucier Road, Saucier, MS 39574.
