Bernadette A. (Duggan) Nicotra passed away supported by the love of her family at Tufts Medical Center in Boston on March 6th. She was 89. Born and raised in Medford, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Hannah (O'Sullivan) Duggan.
Bernadette was a long-time Medford resident before settling in Malden. She was devoted to her family and was a woman of strong faith. Bernadette worked for many years in the Bakery Union and, in later years the health care industry and enjoyed serving in administrative positions at local nursing homes.
She was the devoted mother of Stephen Nicotra and his wife Nancy (Bova) of Templeton, Mass., Robert Nicotra of Malden and Bernadette Nicotra- Alessi and her husband Richard of Harrisonville, Missouri. She was a loving grandmother to Lisamarie and her husband Jim, Richard Jr., Hannah, Guy, Lori and her husband Jimmy,. She was a loving great-grandmother to Brice, Jayce, Mason, Tristan, Kenadie, Zahara and Jimmy. Bernadette was also a proud great-great-grandmother to Karmen. She was also predeceased by her dear sister Joan Hulme.
Family and friends are kindly invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday, March 15th from 11 AM to 1 PM with a chapel service at 1 PM. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
