Bernadette Wrightington Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boston Cremation - Malden Care Center on Jul. 2, 2025.
Bernadette "Bernie" Wrightington, 65, of Plymouth, MA surrounded by her family, left this world to be with her late loved ones on the evening of July 1st, 2025. She was born in Chelsea, MA on December 15, 1959, the fourth and feistiest of six children to the late George and Mary Martin.
Bernie was a generous, selfless and caring person. She would give anyone anything if she thought they needed it- even if they didn't. Conversations often started with "I got you something!" and ended with "Just take it!". Working at various cafes and coffee shops, interacting with customers and getting to know about their lives was what brought her joy. She especially loved meeting and talking with people, who ultimately became her friends outside of work. In her retirement, Bernie enjoyed frequenting her favorite local restaurants, including IHOP, The Charlie Horse, and Texas Roadhouse, where her love of chatting with strangers continued.
She was the proud mother of four sons, and grandmother of six grandsons and one granddaughter. She was a friend to many, a loving sister and a fighter, overcoming several seemingly impossible odds throughout her life. She was the glue that held her siblings together, despite the miles between them. Her strong will and quick wit will be heavily missed by her family. There will be a 4'11 (and a half, according to her) sized hole in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her four sons; Glenn Wrightington Jr. and his fiancé Karen of Hanover, Tim Wrightington and his wife Jessica of Bridgewater, Adam Wrightington of Plymouth, and Matt Wrightington and his wife Hannah of Middleboro. She also leaves behind siblings; brother George Martin and his wife Betty of Plymouth, sister Alice Valdez of Sacramento CA, sister Jean Chambers of Jacksonville FL, and sister Stephanie Noel and her husband Rich of Plymouth. She will also be missed by her seven grandchildren; Liam, Finn, Grayson, Oliver, Maisie, Zephyr, and baby Wrightington due in August, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she now rejoins her sister Linda Maheux, her step-mother Peggy, nephew Joey, and niece Sondra.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025 from 4-8PM at the American Legion, 199 Federal Furnace Rd., Plymouth MA 02360, so we can share memories and stories about Bernie's life together.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BID Plymouth at https://bilh.org/giving, where they always took great care of her when needed.
"Give the kids a kiss and a hug. Love ya!"
