Bernadine P. Cwalina was born on May 16, 1936 in Baltimore, MD to the late Frank and Mary Genevieve (Stylc) Cwalina. She was a resident of Ferndale for the past 63 Years. Bernadine dedicated over two decades of service as an administrative worker for Verizon before retiring. She was a proud member of SWORD; a church-based group for those who are separated, widowed, or divorced through her church.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—bowling, bingo nights, card games, travel (especially her sister trips) and most especially, the warmth and laughter of all gatherings with her family. She enjoyed staying connected with friends and family on Facebook and was always good for well wishes and light-hearted comments. Her spirit of generosity and her love for tradition will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents, Bernadine was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Zambotti, brother Ed Cwalina and sisters Frances Cooke, Dorothy Tucker, Irene DeBorde, and Patricia Piraino.
She leaves behind a loving legacy in her brother Francis "Bo" Cwalina (Mary) of Stevensville; sons Ronald Zambotti of Arbutus (Denise), Robert “Bob” Zambotti of Camp Verde, AZ, Richard Zambotti of Ferndale, and daughters Carol Laumann of Brooklyn Park and Judy Zambotti-Wall (Jeff) of Ellicott City. She will forever be in the hearts of her six grandchildren; Stephanie, Albert, Sarah, Anna, Teresa and Maria, and four great-grandchildren, Skylar, Adriahna, Jake and Julia.
Bernadine’s life was a testament to resilience, kindness, and the enduring power of family. She will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew her. She passed away peacefully at her daughter's home surrounded by family.
