Bernadine (Bernie) Evelyn Dillahunty passed away on January 6, 2024, in McKinney, Texas at the age of 102. She was born to Thomas and Carrie (Arganbright) Betz on December 16,1921, in Chillicothe, Ohio. Bernadine was the second youngest of seven children.
She graduated from Chillicothe High School in the Class of 1938. Bernadine worked for the telephone company in Columbus, Ohio, and she later met and married Bruce E. Dillahunty in 1947 in Columbus.
Bernadine was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes Fan. She enjoyed sewing and traveling later in life. Bernadine's family was most important to her. She loved spending time with her children and her sister. The last four years she resided in McKinney Texas following a stroke in 2019.
Bernadine is survived by her son, Rick Dillahunty and wife, Jill of Fairview, Texas; son, Terry Dillahunty and wife, Marcia of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren, Carrie Tuel and husband, David of McKinney, Texas; Brooks Dillahunty and wife, Brittney of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Amy Dillahunty and John Swihart of Seattle, Washington; and Matthew Dillahunty of Austin, Texas; and great grandchildren, Emma and Claire Tuel, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Carrie Betz, and siblings, Raymond Betz, Elgin Betz, Marjorie Rudell, Ovid Betz, Juanita Williams, and Darrell Betz.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Collin County Meals on Wheels.
