Whitney Glen Carmon of McKinney, Texas passed away on September 22, 2025, at the age of 80. He was born on August 27, 1945, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Whitney was the son of the late Preston Carmon and Mazel (Chambers) Carmon.

A proud graduate of Phillis Wheatley High School, Class of 1964, Whitney's journey through life took him from the small town of Palmetto to the vibrant city of New Orleans in pursuit of work. In 1996 he returned to his hometown of Palmetto. After retiring from The Shaw Group, Whitney worked another 10 years for Lofton Staffing and Security Services. For the last 3 years, Whitney has called McKinney home allowing him to be close to his eldest daughters.

Whitney had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether behind the wheel on a long cross- country drive, tending to his garden, or cooking up something special for his co-workers, family and friends, he found joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life. Known for his strong spirit and gentle heart, he was always ready with a story, a helping hand, or a warm plate of food.

He was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lebeau, Louisiana, where his faith was a guiding light in his life. For over 17 years, he was also a proud member of the Knights of St. Peter Claver, Inc., Council No.10, serving with dedication and humility.

Whitney leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and faith. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his four daughters; Lisa Carmon of McKinney, Texas, Crissy Simmons (Arthur) of McKinney, Texas, Glenda Carmon of Westwego, Louisiana, Brittney Carmon of Baker, Louisiana, four grandchildren; Jasmine Carmon, Arthur Simmons, II, Alyssia Simmons, Alanna Simmons; three siblings; Augusta Carmon Rideau (Michael), Betty Carmon Rideau (John) both of Palmetto, Louisiana, Kenneth Carmon (Charlotte) of Richmond, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Preston Carmon and Mazel (Chambers) Carmon; four brothers, Clarence Carmon, Preston Carmon Jr., John Carmon, Cecil Carmon, three sisters; Ida Mae Harris, Margie Shaw, and Mildred Thomas.
