Mr. James William Carmon

June 6, 1961 - September 13, 2025

Mr. James William Carmon, age 64, of New Tazewell, passed away at his home on September 13th, 2025. He was a shining light in the lives of all who knew him. He was born June 6th, 1961 to Billy Ray and Janice Carmon in Middlesboro, KY. He owned and operated Jim's Backhoe Service and proudly served his community for 30 years.

He was a husband, father, Pops, a Bob, and a friend. He was a friend to all, happy to help with a smile on his face, always cutting up and making jokes. He was "Bob" to countless children who entered the Carmon household over the years, always happy to teach them what he knew and treated them as his own. He was a doting and proud Pops to his grandkids and an incredible, loving father to his two daughters. Above all, Jim was a devoted husband to his beloved wife who he cherished and adored with all his heart.

He has gone to join his Heavenly Father and will be welcomed there by his father (Billy Ray Carmon), his grandparents (Ray and Lottie Carmon, Troy and Maude Neely), and his father-in-law (John Carter).

He is survived by his mother (Janice Carmon), his wife (Johnnie Carmon), his mother-in-law (Cricket Carter), his daughters Jessica Carmon (Dustin Ross) and Emilee Carmon Brooks (Eli Brooks) and his grandchildren. He also leaves countless friends and family who will miss him dearly.

May his memory be a blessing and may we carry forth his legacy of kindness, laughter, compassion, and love.

A Celebration of Life is to be held Saturday, September 20th, 2025 from 2pm - 5pm at your convenience. It will be held at his home at 944 Fords Chapel Rd, New Tazewell, TN. Friends and family are welcome.

A burial will be scheduled at a later date.
