Jean Bewley Boyd, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, at the age of 83.

She was born on August 13, 1942, in McKinney, Texas, to Jim F. Bewley and Mary Helen (Miller) Bewley. Jean married the love of her life, Sammy Boyd, on January 22, 1966, in Grapevine, Texas.

Jean was a graduate of Grapevine High School. She attended Texas Woman's University in Denton before transferring to Texas Tech University where she earned her Bachelor's degree in 1964.

She had a deep appreciation for beauty and creativity, enjoying painting, reading, and spending time immersed in nature. Jean especially loved owls, flowers, butterflies, PBS programming, and British mystery shows. She was deeply interested in politics and helped run elections in Leander Texas and Williamson county for several years. Her gentle spirit and quiet passions brought warmth and comfort to those who knew her.

Jean is survived by her husband of 60 years, Sammy Boyd of Melissa, Texas; her son, Marcus Boyd and wife Atorina Gevergiz of McKinney, Texas; and her sister, Margaret Bewley and her husband Charles Staples of Dallas, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her still-born son, Baby Boy Boyd; and her niece, Sarah Staples.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Melissa Cemetery, Hwy 75 N; exit 46 Melissa Rd E; first L (N) into Melissa Cemetery.
