IN LOVING MEMORY

Sandra Lou Keahey

Dec 06 1941 - Jan 27 2026 Jan 27 2026

Sandra Lou (Browning) Keahey, a resident of Kemp, Texas, passed away January 27, 2026 at the age of 84. She was born on December 6, 1941 in McKinney, Texas to James Wellington Browning and Helen Inez (Garvin) Browning, and raised in Melissa, Texas. From an early age, she developed the quiet strength, kindness, and gentle spirit that would define her life. She graduated from McKinney High School in 1960, carrying with her a deep appreciation for family, community and the comfort of home.

On February 18, 1977, Sandra married John Robert Jackson Keahey in Rockwall, Texas. They were married 48 years. She built a 24 year career at Collins Radio and Rockwell International, beginning as a secretary and advancing to the role of buyer.

Sandra valued peace and harmony and was happiest at home surrounded by those she loved. She adored her grandchildren and delighted in hosting tea parties for them, saying "If you stick a toothpick in it, they'll eat it." Her love showed in countless thoughtful ways. She was known for sewing many beautiful quilts and shared that with her grandkids when she hosted them for a week in the summer where they each made a quilt.

Sandra had a special fondness for flowers, squirrels and birds and lovingly gave many dogs a good home. A collector at heart, she treasured dolls, glassware, antiques, fabric and sewing machines. She would end each night with her familiar and comforting words, "Good night, sweet dreams."

She was deeply loved by all who knew her, and her kindness, humor and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Sandra is survived by her beloved husband, John Robert Jackson Keahey of Kemp, Texas; son, Danny Craft and wife, Tonya of Melissa, Texas; daughter, Suzan Johnson and husband, Leon of Eustace, Texas; son, Eric Keahey and wife, Christie of Athens, Texas; grandchildren, Dana Jones, Dona Hardin, Tana Hartman, Cara Smith, Cody Johnson, Justin Keahey, and Karlie Sneed; eleven great grandchildren; brother, James "Buddy" Browning of Paris, Texas; and a host of extended family members and friends, who will miss her and cherish her memory.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents James Wellington and Helen Inez Browning and son, Gordon Keahey.

A funeral service officiated by Dr. Mike McConachie will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, 75013.
