Earnest Patrick "Pat" Keahey
September 28, 1971 – April 9, 2025
Tallahassee, FL
Earnest Patrick Keahey, affectionately known as "Pat"-or as he liked to say, P-A-Double Sweet T-passed away on April 9, 2025, in Tallahassee, Florida, at the age of 53. Born on September 28, 1971, Pat spent most of his life in Tallahassee, where he built a life filled with grit, humor, and an undeniable zest for adventure.
A skilled sheet metal tradesman and certified A&P mechanic, Pat was a self-proclaimed jack of all trades and master of none-though those who knew his talents might disagree. He was a hard worker with a strong back and stronger will, never afraid to get his hands dirty or take on a challenge. He returned to school later in life to earn his high school diploma, a testament to his determination and pride in perseverance.
Pat's heart beat loudest when he was riding dirt bikes with his brother and his pride and joy-his son, Liam. Motocross wasn't just a hobby; it was part of his soul. Despite injuries and setbacks, he never let fear slow him down. That same fearless energy carried into all parts of his life-whether it was cracking jokes, playing bass in a local band, or telling larger-than-life stories that made everyone laugh.
Pat loved sweet tea in a Styrofoam cup, late-night ice cream snacks, and the simple joys of watching a movie or going to FunSpot with his son. Being a dad was the greatest joy and accomplishment of his life. He poured his heart into fatherhood, and his bond with Liam was filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. His motto for life-and something he often told Liam-was: "Can't never could and could never can't."
Pat was outgoing, full of laughter, stubborn in the best way, and always ready with a story or a sarcastic remark. He never met a stranger and made fast friends everywhere he went. He was a Christian and leaned on his faith through a brave and courageous battle with cancer, never letting it dull his spirit.
He is survived by his beloved son, Liam Jase Keahey; his brother and sister-in-law, Jessie and Lauren Keahey, and their daughter, Saphira – all who lovingly cared for Pat and surrounded him with comfort and support until his final sunset. He is also survived by his son's mother and stepfather, Melissa Keahey and Dana Rogers-his co-parents, with whom he shared a strong and supportive bond rooted in love for their son. Pat also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and countless friends who will carry his memory forward.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Lee Kennedy; his oldest brother, Robert Louise Keahey; and his beloved dog and companion, Zolara.
He'll be remembered for living life wide open-with music in his soul, laughter on his lips, and his son forever at the center of his heart. Pat leaves behind a trail of love, laughter, and unforgettable stories-and a legacy rooted in the bond he shared with his son.
