Bernadine B. Guyton, age 100, of Belton passed away in the morning hours of Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Park Place Manor. She was surrounded by her daughter and a friend who stayed with her until her passing. She was born in Fife, TX to parents Ernest Luke and Naomi Blanche (Jackson) Guyton on the 10th day of July in the year 1924.
She grew up on a farm with her siblings and parents in Fife, TX, and went on to attend school in Lohn, TX where she would also graduate from. She grew up with a strong work ethic and a love for the land and family, those are the values of living life on a farm with your family, which is the most important aspect of all.
Bernadine met Albert H. Broad Jr. in Brady, TX and they would get married in Uvalde in November of 1942. They had 16 years together being blessed with a daughter and son in which she devoted her time and love to always. Albert would pass away in the year 1963. Later in her life, she would reunite with Glenn B. Guyton and they would marry in Clovis, NM in June of 1974. They had many happy years together until his passing in 2009. She worked as a Dental Assistant for many years until retiring in 1974.
She was affiliated with the Metropolitan Community Church of the Heart in Waco; when her health was good, she enjoyed attending as much as she could. Bernadine lived a full and adventurous life; she loved riding the motorcycles around the United States with Glenn. Her passion for dancing wasn't limited to a dance floor, it wasn't unusual to see her in a street dance also. Her love for reading had her catching up on history and she found that drawing up house plans was a great hobby also. Bernadine's greatest pleasure came from spending time with her family, enjoying the children growing up and making many lovely memories to last a lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouses, and also all her siblings.
Left behind to mourn her life while here on this Earth are her daughter Lynda Broad and wife Barbara Jennrich-Broad of Belton. Her son Bert Broad and his wife Lee of Brady, TX along with 2 granddaughters, Christina and Lacy. Bernadine was blessed in her life with 8 great-grandchildren. All the family, friends, and those whose life she touched in any way will miss her loving and kind soul, but she is now reunited in heaven with loved ones and is at peace within the realm of our Heavenly Lord.
A graveside service will be held in Brady, TX at Resthaven Cemetery on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
The family of Mrs. Guyton would like for any family, friends, and acquaintances to know they are welcome to come pay their respects a the graveside service being held on Wednesday at 2:00 PM in Brady, TX. They would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at Park Place Manor in the care they took with their mother.
