Bernadine Marie Wilgonawski Kitchen, passed away on August 1, 2023, in Dallas, Texas. She was born on July 4, 1946, in Bremond, Texas. Bernadine lived in Grand Prairie and was known for her strong Catholic faith and dedication to her family, church, and her beloved dogs.
Bernadine is survived by her son, Mark Kitchen and loving wife Shelley Kitchen; grandchildren Tabitha, Corbin, Colton, and Carlee; great-granddaughter Kryslynn; sister-in-law Janice Wilgonawski, as well as Jerry Kitchen ex-husband and father of her children, Jane Curry, James Henry Kitchen, James Michael and Patricia Jean Varney, Bill and Joyce Kitchen and many nieces, nephews, cousins extended family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary Wilgonawski; brothers Ernest (Dorothy), Floyd (Agnes), Alvin; and her daughter Amy Kitchen.
A visitation to honor Bernadine will be held at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, Texas, on August 3, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. On August 4, 2023, a Mass of Catholic Christian Burial will take place at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Grand Prairie. The service will begin at 11:00 AM, with the rosary starting at 10:00 AM. Following the Mass, Bernadine will be laid to rest in Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery in Bremond, Texas on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 10:00 AM.
As we say our final goodbyes to Bernadine Marie Wilgonawski Kitchen, let us remember her as a compassionate and dedicated woman who brought joy and warmth into the lives of those she encountered. Her legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in eternal peace.

My deepest condolences to you and your family on the loss of your mom, Mark. I have fond memories of our visits whenever we could get together with your family. Mrs. Kitchen will be missed by so many. Mark I'm so sorry for your loss. I know that she and Amy are catching up on so many things. I meet Mrs. Kitchen 38 yrs ago she was a great person. Miss Bernadine as I would call her worked together at Qualfon for many years and no matter what what she was going through she always had the time to stop and visit with me when she could. I cherish being a part of her life, she will be deeply missed. Love you always and forever my dear friend. R.I.P. and give Amy my love because she has a Special mom in Heaven with her.
