Bernard "Bernie" Austin, age 95 of Miami Township, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024. He was born February 17, 1929 in Akron, Ohio the son of the late Glen and Kinsey Austin. Bernie worked as a Truck Driver for O.K. Trucking for over 20 years. He was very active in his church, Moraine Heights Baptist Church. Bernie loved the Lord and serving Him. He took care of the Church's grounds for many years. Bernie was part founder of two different churches in Dayton. In his spare time he loved fishing and having fish fry's. Bernie loved Spending time with family and being a Father, Grandfather,and Great-Grandfather. He lived a full life and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his Wife, Wilma Austin; his son, Wayne Austin; his parents; and 9 brothers and sisters.
Bernard is survived by his Daughters, Cindy (Tony) Wolfe, and Brenda (George) Cutright; Son, Dewayne (Amy) Koger; Granddaughters, Terri (Jeff) Guthrie, Katelyn (Jacob) Willoughby, and Morgan (Kurt) Hamlin (along with future Great-Granddaughter); Grandsons, Jamie Cress, Jason (Robin) Price, Brandon Price, and Eric (Krissy) Wolfe; Great-Granddaughters, Geneva Price, Lylah Price, Shelby Parsons, and Emma Wolfe; Great-Grandsons, Skilyr Wolfe, and Corey Cress; 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren (his special buddy Easton); Sister, JoAnn Warner; and by numerous other family, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorial Donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 23, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home - Centerville (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45459).
