Bernard Bookman

OBITUARY
Bernard K Bookman passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 5th, three days after his 87th birthday. He is predeceased by his parents Avram and Rose (Kapustin) Bookman. He is survived by his wife Brenda of almost 63 years, his children Laurie, Karen (Dale) Winkler, and Marnie (Brian) Nadolne, grandchildren Becca, Benjy, and Mollie Nadolne and Adrian Winkler, siblings Harvey (Charlene) Bookman and Eleanor (Brian) Epstein, and many, many barbershop singing and golf buddies.
Bernie was born and raised in Montreal, Canada He received a bachelors in mechanical and industrial engineering from McGill University and an MBA from University of Western Ontario. Bernie was an entrepreneur who spent his life pursuing many hobbies, including earning a black belt in Korean Kempo and rising to the level of Tai Chi Master. He was an accomplished artist, singer/songwriter, and musician. A gourmet cook, he loved a good meal and bottle of wine, or some great ribs and a cold beer. His golf buddies competed to play with him rather than against him and his barbershop buddies appreciated his kind nature and solid talent in the quartets and choruses to which he belonged. He will be missed by so many.
Funeral services will be held in Hilton Head, SC on Monday, April 8th at 1:30pm at Six Oaks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider doing a mitzvah in Bernie's memory or donating to the charity of your choice.
